GLOSSARY TERM

Inline inspection

A quality check carried out during production, while the garments are still being sewn, so that defects can be fixed before the lot is finished.

Inline checks usually happen at about 30–50% production completion and look at workmanship, measurements and consistency against the approved pre-production sample. They are cheaper than rework after packing.
