UFLPA
Stands for: Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act
A United States law, in force since June 2022, that presumes goods made wholly or in part in Xinjiang, or by listed entities, to be made with forced labour and bars their import unless the importer proves otherwise.
Cotton and yarn from affected supply chains can appear inside garments made elsewhere, so customs detentions have hit apparel from third countries. Fibre-level traceability is the defence.
