Selvedge

The self-finished edge of a woven fabric that stops it from fraying, and by extension denim woven on narrow shuttle looms with a visible edge.

Selvedge denim is narrower and slower to make than wide-loom denim, so it is a premium product with its own minimums and fabric lead times.
