OEM / ODM
Stands for: Original Equipment Manufacturer / Original Design Manufacturer
In apparel, OEM means the factory makes garments to the buyer’s own design and tech pack, while ODM means the factory also supplies the design, which the buyer brands.
Most Bangladeshi production is OEM, driven by the buyer’s tech pack. ODM appears in basics and private-label programmes where the buyer chooses from the factory’s existing styles.
