GLOSSARY TERM

CMT

Stands for: Cut, Make, Trim

The factory’s charge for turning fabric into a garment: cutting, sewing and finishing, usually with the trims supplied or added.

CMT is priced from the garment’s standard allowed minutes (SAM) multiplied by the line’s cost per minute. In a full FOB price it sits beside fabric, trims, print, wash, packing and margin. A pure CMT order, where the buyer supplies fabric, is a different commercial arrangement from FOB.
